Rimu timber colour swatch, natural hardwax oil finish

Rimu — warm, golden and character-rich

Rimu ranges from golden honey and amber through to caramel and richer brown tones. Its flowing grain, darker streaks and small natural marks give it a warm, character-rich look with plenty of depth and variation.

Our rimu is salvaged from Cyclone Ita-felled West Coast forest, where a limited amount of fallen timber was permitted for recovery and use.

Northland Tōtara timber colour swatch, natural hardwax oil finish

Northland Tōtara — honeyed warmth with natural character

Tōtara ranges from pale straw and honey-gold through to soft tan, peach and occasional reddish-brown tones. Its grain is generally fine and gently flowing, with knots, darker flecks and richer heartwood variation adding natural character.

Our tōtara work is connected to Northland farm-tōtara and native timber pathways developed through landowners, researchers, foresters, Tāne’s Tree Trust and MPI-supported systems.

West Coast Beech timber colour swatch, natural hardwax oil finish

West Coast Beech — warm, clean and naturally varied

Beech has a warm palette of pale honey, peach, caramel and golden-brown tones, often with darker natural streaks. Its fine, flowing grain and occasional knots give it a clean, contemporary look without feeling plain or uniform.

It is a practical New Zealand hardwood option for contemporary tables, tops and commercial spaces where you want native timber with a cleaner, more modern feel.

How to compare samples at home

  • View them in natural daylight and evening light.
  • Place them beside your flooring, kitchen, wall colour or existing furniture.
  • Compare both colour and grain, not just light and dark tone.
  • Expect natural variation from board to board.
  • If you’re unsure, send us a photo of your space and we’ll help narrow it down.
