Crossroads Dining Table
$3,100.00
The Crossroads Dining Table pairs a solid NZ native timber top with a central NZ steel base, made to order for family dining rooms, meeting spaces, and hospitality fit-outs.
The crossed centre-frame keeps the outside edges clear, giving the table a solid visual anchor while leaving generous room for chairs and bench seating. It is a practical choice when you want a substantial timber table without legs interrupting the seating around the perimeter.

Materials and provenance

Materials and provenance
+Each Crossroads table is built from solid timber selected for colour, grain, and suitability for the size ordered. Rimu, Northland Tōtara, and West Coast Beech are our core dining timbers, and we can source other responsibly sourced NZ-grown timbers on request.
Rimu is warm and characterful, with golden tones and flowing grain. Northland Tōtara is paler, with gentle colour variation and a fine native timber character. West Coast Beech has a clean, warm look with naturally varied tones.
Each core species is available in Clear, Country Bark, and Blackwash colour options. Timber samples are the best way to compare species, colour, and grain before choosing.
Tables are finished with natural hardwax oil. One NZ native tree is planted for every table that leaves the workshop.
How we build yours
+
How we build yours
+Timber. Each Crossroads starts with timber selection. We work through our stock to find boards that suit the size you have ordered, minimise waste, and choose timber character that fits your brief.
Making. Boards are machined, jointed, glued, sanded, finished, and assembled by Innate Furniture in Christchurch. The steel Crossroads frame is fabricated and powdercoated by local specialists, then fixed to the underside of the top in our workshop.
Finishing. The top is sanded progressively finer, then finished with natural hardwax oil. Before your table leaves the workshop, we complete final checks and prepare it for pickup or delivery.
If you are unsure about size, timber, or base style, get in touch before ordering and we can help match the table to your space.
Frequently asked questions
What are your deposit and balance terms?
+
What are your deposit and balance terms?
+Two options, whichever suits you. Most customers pay in full at order, which is the simplest path. The alternative is a 50% deposit at order with the balance due when the table is complete, before pickup or delivery is booked. Either works for us.
How long until my table arrives?
+
How long until my table arrives?
+Standard build time is six weeks from order confirmation to dispatch, and we're usually running ahead of schedule.
Delivery on top of that depends on where you are. Auckland and Queenstown are typically a few days, and most other regions sit in a similar range. Remote rural locations can take up to two weeks.
If you need yours faster, get in touch. We hold a small number of uncoated tabletops and our most popular steel frames in stock, so if you're flexible on species or leg design, we can usually build your table on a much shorter turnaround.
Can you build a custom size or shape?
+
Can you build a custom size or shape?
+Yes. Any size, any shape, rounded corners, custom edge profiles, all possible. The standard options on the page are a starting point, not a ceiling. Tell us what you're picturing and we'll work out how to build it.
What if I don't love the timber colour when it arrives?
+
What if I don't love the timber colour when it arrives?
+Easiest to avoid that worry up front. Visit our Christchurch showroom on QEII Drive, or order a sample pack and live with the three species on your benchtop for a few days before deciding. Timber is a natural material, so each board has its own character. Once a table is in build, the selection is locked in.
Can I extend the table later with a leaf or extra section?
+
Can I extend the table later with a leaf or extra section?
+We don't make extendable tables. Our tables are built as solid one-piece tops on welded steel or solid timber frames, which is what gives them their structural feel. If you'd like more flexibility, the bench option adds seating without changing the table itself, and we can build a coordinating side or console table to extend serving space.
How tough is the finish, and do I need to use coasters?
+
How tough is the finish, and do I need to use coasters?
+The natural hardwax oil finish is made for normal daily dining use. Wipe spills promptly, clean with a mild timber-safe cleaner, and use common sense with very hot pans, sharp objects, or heavy abrasion.
Over time, timber surfaces wear in. Small marks and changes in sheen are normal, and the finish can be refreshed rather than replaced when the table needs it.
All three of our main timbers are proven for dining tables. West Coast Rimu is our most popular choice, with warm honey tones and a fine, tight grain. Northland Tōtara is the palest, with reddish undertones. West Coast Beech is the densest of the three.
How do I clean and care for my table?
+
How do I clean and care for my table?
+For everyday cleaning, use a soft cloth and a mild timber-safe cleaner. Osmo Wash and Care is a simple option if you want a dedicated product.
As the table sees use, a light refresh with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner can add protection and even out the surface. Heavier wear can be refreshed with Osmo Polyx-Oil. We stock the care products and can talk you through the process when the time comes.
What about manufacturing defects?
+
What about manufacturing defects?
+We back our work with a lifetime structural warranty against manufacturing defects. Joinery, frame welds, and the integrity of the build are covered for as long as the table is in original ownership. Wear, accidental damage, and finish refresh aren't covered, but we'll always help you get them sorted. Full terms are on our warranty page.
Do you deliver nationwide?
+
Do you deliver nationwide?
+Yes. Within Christchurch, our local team handles delivery for $170, fully assembled and placed in the room you want it. Surrounding areas (Rolleston, Rangiora, Sumner) are around $220.
For the rest of New Zealand, we use Mainfreight2Home, their nationwide home-delivery service. Most standard dining tables sit between $250 and $350, with Auckland and Queenstown in the lower end of that range. Larger tables or harder-to-reach addresses can push the price up, occasionally as high as $650. We'll confirm the actual freight cost with you before you commit, so nothing comes as a surprise.
If you'd rather your table arrive fully assembled, just let us know at order and we'll arrange it for you.
How easy are the tables to assemble?
+
How easy are the tables to assemble?
+Depends where you are. Christchurch deliveries arrive fully assembled, and our local team places the table in the room for you. Outside Christchurch, the table ships with the top and frame as separate pieces. They bolt together with an Allen key on arrival, a 10-minute job for two people. If you'd rather not, just let us know at order and we'll arrange assembly for you.
Where can I see a finished table before ordering?
+
Where can I see a finished table before ordering?
+Our showroom is right next to the workshop on QEII Drive in Christchurch. Drop in to see finished tables, feel the timber, and talk through your project. If you're not in Christchurch, order a sample pack and we'll send the three species in Clear, Country Bark, and Blackwash colour options for you to live with.
