The Heirloom Chair is a made-to-order Innate chair with a real local material story, not a generic imported supply chain. Choose your steel colour and leather colour below, then contact us if you want help matching it to a table, room or commercial setting.
The leather is salvaged New Zealand leather that would otherwise be discarded, so grain, marks and patina will vary. That character is part of the chair.
Sizes: choose from the product size options above, with custom dimensions available on request.
Width and height: 1000mm wide and 760mm high as standard, unless otherwise specified.
Timber options: Rimu, Northland Tōtara, and West Coast Beech are our core dining timbers. We can also source a wider range of responsibly sourced NZ-grown timbers on request.
Base/frame finish: steel bases are powdercoated, black as standard, with other colours available on request; timber bases are finished to suit the selected table top.
Top finish: natural hardwax oil, with Clear, Country Bark, and Blackwash colour options available across our core species.
Edge profiles: square edge as standard. Other profiles, such as rounded or sharknose, are available on request.
Bench options: available where shown in the product options.

Materials and provenance

Each table is built from solid timber selected for colour, grain, and suitability for the size ordered. Rimu, Northland Tōtara, and West Coast Beech are our core dining timbers, and we can source other responsibly sourced NZ-grown timbers on request.
Each core species is available in Clear, Country Bark, and Blackwash colour options. Timber samples are the best way to compare species, colour, and grain before choosing.
Tables are finished with natural hardwax oil. One NZ native tree is planted for every table that leaves the workshop.
How we build yours

Timber. Each table starts with timber selection. We work through our stock to find boards that suit the size you have ordered, minimising waste, and choosing timber character that fits your brief.
Making. Boards are machined, jointed, glued, sanded, finished, and assembled by Innate Furniture in Christchurch. Bases are made to suit the design, with steel frames fabricated and powdercoated where applicable.
Finishing. We complete final checks before preparing the table for pickup or delivery. If you are unsure about size, timber, or base style, get in touch before ordering and we can help match the table to your space.
